Ease at ill

Finding comfort in being uncomfortable

By Valentine VampirePublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Waterbugs on the wall with tiny legs and wings that make her skin crawl

mold that infests itself in the air, up her nose, and into her brain

Distorting her vision into foggy haze that makes up her day

dirty pillows and sheets make sleeping the dream and reality a nightmare

Leaky room that bleeds with water

all these things taught her no such thing of comfort

Food expired 2 years ago

she better eat up before she goes

Dirt and vomit are now up to her knees

her mind presses play on her favorite DVDs

Prancing in the snow

where it lands she doesn't know

She sticks her tongue out for a taste

sweet and somber this moment won't last forever

She takes her jacket off and lays in the white sea

praying oblivion comes soon

A moment so perfectly imperfect

she sobs

Her tears freeze as they try to make it past her cheek

her body becomes weak

The ice breaks her delicate skin as she grins blissfully

the gentle snow now a fierce blizzard

The chaos returned

but she doesn't sob anymore

She is comfortable
