this earth does not choose sides
be it by race, gender, or continent
it does not share folly with the wicked
by means of enduring it compensates
collecting warmth and endangering life
we do not cherish this earth
we abuse it’s roots and water
we take this earth for granted
we never pay it what it’s worth
I cry for you, my dear earth
forsaken are you lands
demolished are your dreams
this earth chose us, we are it
at last it’s breath has been felt
fleeting is its nature, it’s reality
forever more we need it’s life
given circumstances it did not want
taken away by its very children
it’s continues to circle, burdened
we do not cherish this earth
we abuse it’s roots and water
we take this earth for granted
we never pay it what it’s worth
