When Love Shatters Like Old Glass.

(Verse 1)

Do you remember us? We were at a fireworks display,

Exploding with colors, lighting up the way.

Laughter echoed, like thunder up high,

"Forever," we vowed, just you and I.

Now the embers lie still, a muted grey,

And I’m left here, watching the night fade today.

(Verse 2)

We crafted a castle, with windows of gold,

Tales we would share, never to grow old.

But the walls are crumbling, falling apart,

Leaving sharp edges that pierce at my heart.

Your "us" has disappeared, a whisper in the air,

And the silence shouts, you’re no longer there.

(Verse 3)

It’s not a drama, like the films we see,

No intense soundtrack, just a stillness around me.

A heart that once danced, now softly sighs,

Like a broken radio, its melody dies.

I replay our moments, like an old record's spin,

The sweetness cuts deep, like a love that won’t win.

(Verse 4)

They say time heals, that scars will fade,

But this feels like a mountain, a daunting cascade.

How to ascend, how to find the light,

This weight on my chest lingers each night.

It’s different from sorrow, a deep, hollow ache,

Like a cherished book, with pages I can’t remake.

(Verse 5)

I see couples walking, hand-in-hand, so carefree,

And I can't help but think, "Why not me?"

But perhaps this feeling, this sharp little sting,

Is making me stronger, giving me new wings.

Maybe heartbreak is just a tough farewell,

To who we were, beneath yesterday's spell.

(Verse 6)

So here it is, the messy, raw, truth,

Of a heart that's broken, from love's cruel proof.

I’ll gather the pieces, each scattered part,

And create something new, from this tangled heart.

No perfect ending, no fairytale bliss,

Just acceptance, and a moment of quiet happiness.

(Verse 7)

So if you catch me, looking a bit adrift,

It's just me swaying with the love I've missed.

A little shattered, a little hurt and worn,

But I'm still here, and ready to be reborn.

More than the remnants, more than the haze,

More of the self, I'm learning to embrace.

(Outro)

Share if you've felt it, share if you relate,

This tangled feeling, where love hesitates.
