Dust in the Fireworks’ Glow

To live and die in mediocrity is life’s greatest tragedy.

By LunaPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

We cannot choose our origins—ordinariness is our inevitable lot. All roads lead to Rome, but some are born in the Rome.

Some fortunes we can only envy, some heights forever beyond reach, some brilliance that halts us in awe.

Looking back, we are but specks of dust in the fireworks’ blaze. In this age of boundless freedom, let us not let life dull our edges, nor grow accustomed to passive acceptance, nor drown in its currents. Why not defy fate with all our might?

I yearn for the zenith where "stars are plucked by hand," savor the serenity of "fragrant whispers under moonlit dusk," and exalt the boldness of "laughing skyward as I stride beyond the gate—how could souls like ours wither in the weeds?" Even as dust, I shall burn the brightest!

You may swell with passion, dreaming of transformation. Yet mere dreams breed stagnation. Days wasted in idleness grind youthful vigor into premature desolation. As Haruki Murakami warned: "Chronic helplessness corrodes the soul."

But I choose clarity: Heights are built step by step, roads forged through footprints one after another, success carved by relentless toil. Young one, seize your destiny now! Our fates lie not in heaven’s hands, but our own! Hone your wings with fervor, strengthen your resolve through tireless journeys, expand your vision with books and lived wisdom. Confront your flaws, mend your weaknesses, polish yourself until uncut jade becomes luminous gemstones!

Grand words pale before action. Gazing too long at the cliff’s edge breeds fear. Dare to leap—failure matters not. Gather courage to begin anew, lessons etched in your bones.

How many dream of heroism in youth, only to fade into the mundane glow of mortal dust? Reality often bends thus. But while youth remains, set sail! Leave no room for regret when twilight greys your hair.

Defy mediocrity. Even as dust, I’ll pour my soul into scripting a legend—igniting fireworks that blaze my name across the night!
