Dublin Streets

Poem

By Fiona HowellPublished 11 months ago Updated 11 months ago 1 min read
Dublin at night from the Ha' Penny Bridge in January

Seagulls fighting overhead,

clouds cover the bars

the Beer Temple and The Oak

next door.

Sun peaks through the gloom

and shines on red bricks turning

them bronze.

Rainbow-striped crosswalks are

loud and proud with color.

old buildings and modern

juxtapose together.

Touching history from 1916

and earlier that ripples out

to today.

A hive of languages pass by

carrying stories with them in

Dublin’s streets.
