Distraction

Driving Distracted

Driving home on the crowded highway

I watch the flashing brake lights

Sirens singing on my right

Tires squealing on my left

Roaring engines all around me

A symphony of metal and asphalt

Calling me to keep my hands on the wheel

Telling me to keep my foot on the gas

I dig my toes into the pedals

On the off chance I can master the speeds

Never letting up and setting my mind free.
