They tell me who to be in life.

They tell me what to do.

They tell me I should act my age.

But it’s not telling the truth

I am me, the drifter

Nice to meet you here today

I take life down a path

Doing so my own way

Sure I fall and scrape my knee

But I get back up you see

I want to be who I want to be

And while everyone else is doing what they please

I’ll stay right here

I’ll stay me
