Seeking romance and adventure
a man went forth one day,
to search for something lost before
when dreams led him astray.
forgetting the hidden dangers
so prevalent in today's life,
though persistent and hard headed
with strength to overcome strife.

Knowing the path led him forward
towards points in time unseen,
when purpose may become clearer
and the world a little more green.
Appearing as paradise reborn
where anything can be found,
if willing to accept the cost
whether in money or pound.

Traversing mountains majestic
where eagles fly proud and free,
over the rugged terrain below
as they soar above gracefully.
Enduring every hardship found
that he might come across,
no matter the task which awaited
despite risk for harm or loss.

Taking love when it's offered
if there should be enough time,
to hold a woman soft and warm
while the hours slowly chime.
Remembering feelings from long ago
when youthful passion was strong,
and nothing seemed impossible
with his heart filled by song.

Playing an anthem silently
heard to echo through the night,
as children dreamt without worry
secure in their parent's sight.
Accepting that above all else
there remains a greater good,
even if rarely seen to exist
and almost always misunderstood.

Believing the future unforeseen
not written or manifest,
as destiny is presumed to be
by those who think they're blessed.
Admitting to his own humanity
that makes him seem fallible,
but driven by feelings and urges
with which much is possible
