Dreaming

A Day at the Beach

By Laura RosarioPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

As I lay here, eyes closed; I see it all and begin to crave,

Hearing a plea from my soul; a yearning for a distant pleasure,

Feeling the warm sun kiss my skin; a cold touch of the wave,

Saltiness in the air and the free pedicure a true treasure.

Looking out at the edge of the water then far beyond the shore,

Up to the seagulls searching for lunch; then their found it cry,

Suddenly feeling the pressure from above as they swarm galore,

Relaxing again, laying out while feeling the calm ocean air, ah, sigh.

Sun setting as across the sea the gorgeous colors shone,

Glare no longer lingering; sky no longer bright,

Sounds of splashing and crashing against the far off stone,

Moonlit sky filled with millions of stars in the night.

My spirit, mind and body wishing to naturally perspire,

The beach is calling thus, it’s time to fulfill this desire.
