When ever I go to sleep these days,

I dream and often see your face.

It's been years since we met,

And yet your there, like yesterday.

In my dreams sometimes we are young,

But often times we have aged and gone.

But even with the new greys

I know your face with each new line.

I do not fully know why I dream

So often of you and I.

Or why you find me in dark places,

Or up on high.

Only that in the depths of my shadow

A place has been carved out,

To forever carry

Your shape and sound.

And if for one day

I could bring you forward to the light.

There would be so many questions

And lost words said.

To make you understand..

That on that day,

we said good bye

I felt a great loss within my soul.

Like I was saying good bye to more than a friend,

But to part of my soul.
