Dreamcatcher, Dreamweaver.

Bring me a dream. Sonnet of Shadow.

By Novel AllenPublished 4 months ago Updated 4 months ago 1 min read

How exquisite you are, Dreamcatcher...A Dreamweaver so divine

Adorned in lovely dainty symbols, waving gently in the breeze

How wonderfully flamboyant and many-hued is your beauty

when you weave, in your handmade willow of woven webbed hoops

Feathers and beads sway beneath a soothing moon above my restless bed

Of what do you ponder, do you dream of the ancestors of long ago

Who with gentle hands and reverent worship to nature and sky

first offered you the sacred feathers and beads, natural fibres interwoven

Are you my talisman, allowing positive dreams to pass through me

Filtering out my negative energies. Filling me with perfect light

My dear dreamcatcher...moonbeam above, catch all of my bad dreams,

Letting only the good dreams reach my wary restless form;

]

Sleep my child, I hear you whisper, as slumber gently steals me away

Worry not your worn soul. Tonight you rest beneath a healing moon.

    Oh, how beautifully sad, Novel! I was absolutely enthralled in this sonnet and its rhythm. I don't know why but I thought of you when I came across this sad story of a woman who died in her apartment and was discovered over two years later. Maybe you could do something with it for the Rick Henry Christopher's Tales from Beyond Challenge: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joyce_Vincent

    Words desert me, leaving me at a loss for description most fitting the feeling of hope rising. The pic is so soothing, the words bliss. Ah, blessed sleep.
