Dragon Song

Renewal of Love

Secret Friends by Valeriya Rudina

Sung soft, as a thousand birds, trilling low,

Its song rides the air upon which it flies.

Magical inducement for all to grow,

Fragrant earth and blooms, beckoned by its cries.

-

Divine being with claws, horns, and lion’s mane;

Pearlescent ctenoids safeguard all, but wings.

Begetting fortune, hope, and a king’s reign;

Smaug, Yong, Mushu, it’s been named many things.

-

Lazing in lush gardens, through ballad called,

My rough tongue with honey, thick, sits sweet.

Musing on orb’s temperaments, I’m enthralled;

Beautiful, violent, and calm all meet.

-

Spring's melody brought forth; promise due, paid,

Betwixt basilisk and Tellus; lovers made.
