I held you in the water bed of my eyes,
the ocean of my non-stop sighs.
I held you on the riverbank of the cadence of silence’s cash prize,
and then it all just ROARED
do w n h i l l
The echoes on my heart rafters
splintered my wintery bones.
Standing on bowed wooden spine,
I smiled at smooth, sweaty, summer in the face with such sickening longing!

The “smiled at smooth, sweaty, summer” line is dangerously good. ✨
“I held you in the water bed of my eyes,” <~ This is my favourite line. It’s descriptive, emotional, and poetic. 🌷
Well-wrought! To long too long always seems to go wrong...
