DOWN WITH BLOODY BIG HEAD!

A homage to Carroll

By EssiePublished 11 months ago 1 min read

So what was it they said?

About sanity?

Sleeping and dreaming

Are not the same

There are deepening worlds below

They fester and putrefy the mind

One should hold on to their head

Before the poison threads

The grinning moon hangs above

Signposts point south and west

Oh, we are quite lost now

In a thickening fog

Of Blue smokey clouds

In a land full of wonder

The flowers have faces

They warn you of the mushrooms

3 cm is a perfect height

Only, that’s what the caterpillar said

Teacups are half empty

(The rabbit half mad)

A concoction of characters

Yellow haired girl

Blue striped dress

Painting roses white and red

Together make a pinky hue

The deck of cards spill onto the grass

Queen of Hearts, Ten of Cups

The sky a black mile away

Through doors the size of mice (door mice)

A hole of mirrors and pianos

Lead you home

So what was it they said about sanity?

Murder mutiny malice…

No, Carroll sang of

The beauty in madness instead!

Brambling, atypical logorrhoea that really materialise in the form of hatching worms. Or stars.
