Walking Down by the Elizabeth River

The Elizabeth River,

I would like to walk,

Ships sail,

Trains on the rails,

Walking through the downtown,

You will never frown,

Each and every year,

It feels festive here,

The harbor lights are clear,

Oysters for dinner,

Fried up right,

It is in good delight,

Ships come and go,

Against the river flow,

The lighthouse should shine,

And ships are fine,

Sit on the dock,

To pass the time,

We sit in wonder,

At the beauty of the Elizabeth River,

The joy it has delivered,

Of seeing the City of Norfolk,

Come alive,

Even after the clock strikes five,

The time arrives,

To walk along the Elizabeth River.
