double rainbow

an LGBTQ poem for pride

By Dave CoastPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Red confetti

floating toward the earth.

Kissing, holding, touching, feeling, dancing, caressing

my first love while marching in the streets.

Full of pride, oh

blissful ignorance.

Orange sun

rises at Burning Man.

Lost moment found on deep playa.

Kissing a stranger, his name? I can't remember.

Beats blare ecstasy from the speaker.

Never felt happier in

my life.

Yellow urine

flows out of me

onto another so willingly. That's new.

Will we ever run out of things to

do with these dicks? I wonder....

Hope not for my

burning desire.

Green trees

hiding in the shadows.

I've escaped the dark prison of

my youth only to find a new cage.

A fresh start like fresh ink

can't change the world

queer boy!

Blue mood

Like my cold childhood.

A dark Toronto sky envelops me.

Mind racing, pulse frantic, breath whooping, heart closed.

Will they find out?

Stay hidden.

Purple shirt

at the gay club.

Seeking acceptance, finding a new world.

Will we be friends when it’s all over?

He sends me away, feeling alive,

even on my walk

of shame.
