“Don’t

Leave me”

By Melissa IngoldsbyPublished about a year ago 1 min read

as a parent, we catch a glimpse of what a real breath of fresh air looks like

Feels like, it’s life

In a perfect shell, pure

We want to preserve that moment

So much, more than anything

Like being able to reach a new world, an Elsewhere that created the most intricate art

A detailed lily pond with Ophelia dipping her toes in the water,

Unscathed.

I keep hearing

Chris Farley

“Don’t leave me”

How can you be so heartless, so stupid with someone’s heart, so cruel with another person’s soul, another person’s baby

Their whole world

Their breath of peace

Fresh air,

He cried for some reason

He couldn’t get the air back in

Someone stole it from him

I know it is crumbling my heart slowly

To death, hearing the broken up plea

“Don’t

Leave

Me”

I’m crumbling next to him

As a parent

He was someone’s breath of fresh air.

A very touching read, and as a parent, I have to agree, even as a non-fan. Well done, Melissa!

Oh, that hurt to read. So visceral and tragic. Brilliant writing :)
