Don’t Walk My Path

It’s better left all the gates locked tight

Don’t Walk My Path

Don’t walk my path, it’s worn with weight

not yours to bear, not yours to hate

I’ve earned each stone beneath my feet

with battles fought, with no retreat

My steps are mine, they bruise, they burn

each twist and turn, each harsh return

I walked through silence, walked through flame

with no one there to speak my name

You see the end, you think it neat

you never saw the slow defeat

you never heard the words unsaid

or counted nights I cried instead

Don’t trace my route, don’t wear my shoes

you wouldn’t last the miles I lose

I made this road with cuts and grit

it’s not for those who toy with it

So walk your own, if walk you must

but leave mine buried in the dust

I’m still out here, I’m not yet done

this war is mine, and I won’t run

We all make our own paths in our own ways. No one should follow unless allowed. Hope this makes sense. Good job.
