The ticks ticking closer to the death of night,

Yet you told me, with that

Starry eyes and wide smile,

"Don't go to sleep yet!"

Because slumber is like

Greedy mouth that eats away our time now,

So when we finally go to sleep tonight,

We wouldn't have anymore time

To dance and sing and laugh

And dream and make love

We wouldn't have time anymore

For ourselves
