Don’t Cry on Me Girl

I don’t do tears

Don’t Cry on Me Girl

Don’t turn on the water works

Your tears mean nothing to me

No, I am not nasty

Just hardened to misery

I’ve seen sorrow eat the soft

And leave bones behind

I’ve walked through the dark

I felt it curl around my ribs

Your pain is yours

I will not carry it

I have my own scars

My own nights without sleep

So don’t cry on me girl

Save your salt for someone else

I have built walls

So don’t cry your tears near me
