Don’t Chase, Build on Vocal
I don’t chase
not love, not friends
not ghosts with half a promise grin
I plant my feet, I build, I tend
to who I am beneath my skin
I wear no mask, I sell no charm
for someone else to feel at ease
if they must run from what I am
then let them go, I will not freeze
I do my work, I keep my lane
I sweat the days, I rise through pain
I speak my truth in steady flame
and never beg to hear my name
The ones meant for me
they’ll show, not sway
they’ll knock, not drift
and they will stay
So I don’t chase
I rise, I grow
and those who see me
learn to know
that being me
was all it took
not fancy words
not baited hook
just honest fire
and open hand
a quiet strength
to understand
That I am not
for everyone
I am more
than anyone
who only loved
a shadow’s trace
and vanished
when I showed
my face

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
