Don't Blame God

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

[Verse]

The sky ain't broken the sun still shines

We dig our trenches we draw the lines

Blame the heavens for the mess we make

[Prechorus]

Hands are free chains are fake

Who's holding the shovel for every mistake

[Chorus]

Can't blame God for the seeds we sow

We build the fire then watch it grow

Free will’s a gift but it cuts both ways

Can't blame God for the games we play

[Verse 2]

The child cries the soldier falls

Echoes ring through these hollow halls

A cure in our hands but we let it wait

[Prechorus]

The choice is ours to heal or break

The clock keeps ticking for the love we forsake

[Chorus]

Can't blame God for the seeds we sow

We build the fire then watch it grow

Free will’s a gift but it cuts both ways

Can't blame God for the games we play {
