Don’t Be Silly

My Color

By Mac The KnifePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

My color isn’t what makes me unique,

don’t be silly.

Colors are merely visual things,

not for tripping.

Color alone isn’t why I call me beauty or grace,

color is the only force we all face.

My color doesn’t make me different,

that’s the whole point

—hold on I’m gonna hit this joint—

The burning? The yelling? The crying?Because color has endangered a population when perception shouldn’t get to coincide with dying.

And can that rhyme be cliché? It’s matter effects my everyday. There’s a direct rebuttal when she’s beside me, inclines one to think it’s worse to be color-full and also gay.

At the hands of an opponent who’s argument is their own incompetence. And lack of ability to feed or clean or love them self.

An opponent who wouldn’t choose chameleon on superpower night, and in no way needs the privilege to stay white.

Ain’t that something? An opp who would rather die than confess that their color (like mine) is not the key to their success.
