Dolphin's Sorrow

A Tale of Heartbreak and Loss

By Quincy.VPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The dolphins leap and dance with grace,

Their playful spirit fills the space.

But deep within their eyes I see,

A longing for the open sea.

Their smiles are masks that hide the pain,

Of captive life that's not the same.

No freedom to explore and roam,

Their spirits yearn for a home.

We watch in awe and hold our breath,

As they perform their tricks to death.

But as the show comes to an end,

Our hearts are heavy, we comprehend.

The sadness of their captive plight,

The loss of freedom, day and night.

We leave the show with heavy hearts,

And vow to play a better part.

This was so sad 😭😭😭😭😭 It's the bitter truth. They belong in the wild, in their natural habitat. They are not here in this world to entertain us. Loved your poem!

Such a sad and heartfelt piece. Such a great reminder that although we enjoy seeing the animals, we've taken them from their homes and it isn't right. You did a beautiful job portraying the consequences of selfish human choices. Great piece and very powerful message, Quincy!

Yes. Animals captured simply to entertain us is not right. Beautiful poem!
