Dinosaurs

A short poem

By Chinonye ChigbuPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

In a land where the earth shook with might,Roamed the giants, from dawn until night. With tails that could sweep and necks that could soar,Dinosaurs wandered from mountain to shore.

The T-Rex, with a roar that echoed the skies,Had tiny little arms but a fierce, hungry eye.Triceratops, with its shield and three horns,Would graze through the meadows and greet the new morn.

Stegosaurus, with plates on its back,Stomped through the forests, leaving no track. And the gentle Brachiosaurus, so tall and so grand,Could nibble the leaves with a reach of its hand.

In rivers and lakes, the Plesiosaurs played,Their long necks and flippers glistening in the sun's rays. While Pterodactyls took flight, wings spread wide,Gliding through clouds, in the blue sky they'd glide.

But time marched on, as it often does,And the age of the dinosaurs ended because,A change in the world, both sudden and vast,Turned these giants into tales of the past.

Yet in our dreams and stories they thrive,These ancient creatures, forever alive. So here’s to the dinosaurs, majestic and grand,A timeless marvel of our wondrous land.
