Did I Hurt You?

I’m sorry I couldn’t see the signs earlier. We passed the point of no return a long time ago, not that there was anything I could have done then anyway. An apology is not what you’re looking for, you’re not looking for anything at all. From me, that is. Either way, I’m sorry. Better late than never, I guess.

Tell me, please- Am I the villain in your story?

I can only hope and wish that it was someone before me, but

I'm not writing your story

Honestly, hurting you would hurt me

But if I'm only learning now

What bridges no longer exist between us

Replaced by questions of intent from each of us

Then what signs I'm following

Means that your absence is the very answer that

I have to accept, that you want nothing to do with me

If I'm in your bad memories

Then I don't want you to missing me, honestly

But if for any reason you had a hard time forgetting me-

If for you I'm a bad memory

Then the villain is me- Isn't it?

I never meant for you to be a victim, but

The road to hell is paved with good intentions- Isn't it?

If whatever is buried is not to be dug up, then I won't

I understand it's too late to right any wrongs

So if I hurt you-

I'm Sorry

This is VERY similar to ‘Bittersweet’, something I wrote quite a while ago. I decided to recycle it, removing some lines and changing the flow just a little bit. It has the same tone as ‘Bittersweet’, but is a bit more heart felt. Enjoy!

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
