Diary of a Psychopomp

Visiting the Other Side

By H.M.WardenPublished 12 months ago 1 min read
(Written while in a dream-like state while sick and half awake)

I haunt the mornings

When everything is blue

A light from another world pours in

Truly there is a world between worlds

This must be where Fae

and Death

reside

In this light

I see my death

I see my death like a time traveler

On a sunken ship

I alone wade through this dreamlike light

Nobody can see this but me

I am not human here

Moving in slow motion

I see my death

I see my death but it cannot touch me

........

Yet.

I am under water

There is an invisible wall that divides these worlds

When they meet

I am its uninvited visitor

I haunt these mornings

As the living in Death's realm

What a strange place....

I am swimming in nostalgia

A sea of blue and golden hues

Where laughter lingers softly

In memories I choose

The waves are warm with echoes

Of days I left behind

They pull me close, reminding me

Of simpler states of mind

Though time may drift me farther

From shores I used to know

I am swimming in nostalgia

Where my heart still longs to go

"For a brief moment, it all made sense...."
