Detective Brown's Poisonous Fortune Case

Detective Brown's phone rang, with a plea,

From a sister, filled with anxiety,

She suspected, her brother's wife,

Had poisoned him, to gain control of his life.

The sister had heard rumours and tales,

That the wife had poisoned her husband with a brew that was pale.

She needed Detective Brown to investigate and find out,

If the wife was guilty or just a doubt.

Detective Brown arrived at the scene,

Where the brother lay ill and lean.

She examined the evidence and talked to the wife,

But all she found were lies, deceit and strife.

She also interviewed the household staff,

but they knew nothing of the wife's chaff.

She then decided to look into the brother's business affairs,

and found out the wife was after the brother's shares.

The wife denied any wrong,

But Detective Brown knew it was a song.

She dug deeper and found an old family recipe,

That was used to poison the brother, quite secretly.

With the evidence in hand,

Detective Brown had the wife arrested and banned.

The brother recovered and the sister was glad,

Detective Brown had solved the case and justice was served.

She also helped the brother to take back control of his business and his life from his avaricious wife.

The brother was grateful and thanked Detective Brown,

For her hard work and her keen detective's frown.

Detective Brown smiled, and went on her way,

Ready for another case, come what may.
