Detective Brown's Crossword Conundrum

Z6

By James GreenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Detective Brown was known so well,

For solving crimes and ringing bells,

But when she saw the daily news,

She felt a chill, a hint of blues.

For there, before her very eyes,

Was a crossword puzzle that did disguise,

A cryptic message, so it seemed,

And Detective Brown was highly intrigued.

She pondered on each word and clue,

And soon the pattern started to ensue,

For every day, the puzzle changed,

And Detective Brown was strangely deranged.

She felt a pull, a hidden hand,

That seemed to guide her to the land,

Where answers lay, so close and near,

And Detective Brown had nothing to fear.

She took the case, with a curious mind,

And worked each day, with a steady grind,

But just when she thought she had it right,

The puzzle changed, and out of sight.

She couldn't shake the feeling that she was being played,

That someone was trying to keep her off the trail,

And so she worked, with a determined heart,

But the answers still elude, and set apart.

And so the mystery remains unsolved,

And Detective Brown is left with questions untold,

For the crossword puzzle still remains a sign,

A cryptic message, so divine.
