Destiny on Route 381

In seventy seven, the wheels turned fast,

At L.U.T. Hindley, memories that last.

Journeys here, there, and everywhere,

Life was a a dream, I hadn’t a care.

A lager in the depot club at night,

With my driver, the world felt so right.

my short skirt uniform, I looked so grand

My ticket machine in hand,

Me and my driverWe ruled the roads,

Just a bus in charge of the perfect two.

Laughter echoed, the nights were alive,

With every route, I felt the alive.

It wasn’t just work; it was destiny’s plan,

Riding through life with my Bus driver man.

The red bus carried more than its share,

Dreams, hopes, love in the open air.

For those moments, so pure, so free,

The bus was my home, my destiny.

after all these years, the buses are gone

But memories linger, getting up with the sun

The buses, the happiest days of my life

I loved every journey right to the end.

My driver and me yep we’re still friends

I think we will be till our life ends

Then in heaven we will drive that big red bus

And take to the roads once more, the two of us

Maybe then at the destination, it will be alright,

To long for the days when life wa one bright
