Destination

I often don't know which way to go

Everyone loves to tell me how, although

I've always wanted to know

But the paths to me they show

The places they tell me to go

Are not my own, that's not my home

Most of the time I feel very alone

My heart yearns for more to know

To make a difference, discover the unknown

They always told me those were "pipe dreams"

And I guess I started to believe them, it seems

Because here I am, writing this scene

As if to say, "all the world's a stage"

And this is my play,

I really wished for a different way,

A different life, without strife

Without the pain inside that remains

And the ways I blame myself

For everything around me

A broken doll, fallen from a shelf

My soul is small but my heart is mighty

Everyone thinks my ideas are flighty

But to me, they are real, they have always been me

I wish that more people would open their eyes and see

What the world needs now, is a message from Anne Marie

Restoring passion, love, life into humanity

Isn't a task they said would be easy

But to me, I think this is the way to be

I'm really starting to learn, to grow, to see

That the person that I am, the way I want to be

Is a beautiful destination, worth fighting for

Worth living for, worth loving for, worth dying for,

Worth so, so, so, so, so, much more;

Which direction do I take?

I wasn't quite sure before

But now, I know the answer, I'm sure

Beyond where we are is a place, is a home

Is the answer within, it is the unknown

You must confront it, you cannot change it

Your path is a journey and only you can take it

And with that, a meaningful life I will make

Following my heart, never stopping for a break

Listening to that feeling that I cannot shake;

The feeling of movement, the feeling of action

Always moving forward, always gaining traction

Until we reach our destination, our place in the stars,

I'll follow you there, I'll follow you to Mars.
