Depression Helped Me Deal With Lockdown
Maybe it can help you too!
I’d like to entertain you, with some positivity
I know there’s somewhere else you'd really like to be,
But you're stuck at home with mother, brother, lover..
I’ll try and help you not to kill each other!
It’s funny how the tables turn; for you non depressives there’s a lot to learn
About feeling trapped, stuck inside, built up feelings you try to hide
It’s going to be tough but you can do it, we have depression and we get through it 😉
So I call to all my depressive friends who live with inner fears,
It’s our time to shine and heal the world, we’ve been practicing it for years.
Weird to say but it's a possibility,
Depression could actually save humanity..
What the hell do I mean by this? Listen up, I’ll teach you how to live in bliss.
I’ll now refer to ‘people with depression’ as ‘Angels In Disguise’
Because we’ve suffered deep and hard we’re definitely more wise
We listen to ourselves a lot, which makes us want to hide
But the way we cope, our 'happy mask' (because we don’t want to confide)
Could mean we have a lot to teach all those now in need
Think about it, we’ve evolved, we’re now a different breed!
There’s a global sadness and feelings of despair, something we always feel
But we have the tools to deal with them so it’s time to change the reel.
Let’s paint a different picture, let’s turn it on it’s head
Forget the word de pression let’s call it ex pression instead
So grab your note books, and a pen and write your go to happy places
So the world can learn from us, how to put smiles on each others faces 😁
Only we can understand the pain they are all feeling
So with our knowledge, experience and compassion,
We can now start world healing 🥰
About the Creator
Emma Baker
I've longed to be a writer, since the age of 4
Peter Rabbit was the subject, but since then many more.
I wrote this little poem as an intro into me,
You're soon to discover I fell out the crazy tree 🤪
No more room, so come inside and see!
