In a world of rapid progress, where dreams take flight,
There lies a hidden truth, concealed from sight,
A sombre tale of innocence, slowly fading away,
As the hands of time relentlessly sway.
Once, in the cradle of youth, we danced with glee,
Unburdened by the weight of what was yet to be,
But now, the world spins faster, leaving us behind,
Lost in the chaos, searching for what we can't find.
In the depletion of innocence, we witness the fall,
As the concrete jungle rises, devouring it all,
The purity of laughter, the sparkle in our eyes,
Now replaced by weariness, as innocence dies.
Gone are the days of wonder, of untainted bliss,
Replaced by cynicism, a bitter, relentless abyss,
The dreams we once held dear, now shattered and torn,
As the world around us changes, leaving us forlorn.
In this rapidly developing world, we strive to survive,
But at what cost, as our innocence takes a dive?
We trade our childhood dreams for a glimpse of success,
Yet deep down, we yearn for the innocence we suppress.
Oh, how we long for the days of carefree delight,
When the world was a canvas, and we painted it bright,
But now, the colours fade, as darkness takes its place,
Leaving behind a void, a longing we can't erase.
So let us remember the innocence we've lost,
And cherish the moments, no matter the cost,
For in this depletion, we find strength to endure,
And reclaim our innocence, pure and secure.
