Shameless Silence

There are moments when the voices die

And completely fade away

My thoughts hit hard, like vices

Till floral words start to decay

Getting trapped between my cheek and gums

Making it hard for me to swallow

Until I’m choking on my tongue

And it’s the denial that silence follows

I think at times we all feel clamped off no matter what we say or do. Good work.

  • When silence tastes bitter & there is no salve to soothe.
