Dementia is a disease
and with it
are no guarantees
it does not discriminate
it has no mercy
when you awake
you feel thirsty
feeling lost and scared
and unprepared
you feel alone
because you're in a home
lost memories of life
lost memories of family
can't look after yourself
you stare in the mirror
at oneself
life is a blur
you don't know it
as it were
loved ones around youi
your lost in their eyes
looking for answers
with you they empathise
no cure at bay
the best we can do
is all pray
