Something scared you so you ran

Right into me

And all I did was brake and scream

~

I couldn't hold you as you fell

Into the grass

All I heard was the echo of the shot

~

I drive past and hear it - it rings

Right through me

And all I do is turn and look away

~

Now I'm scared but what if I ran

Right into you

Kept going until toes left pavement

~

I can hold the flowers as I fall

Knees to grass

And say thank you for your life and mine
