Deeply Rooted

Prompt: Seeing the Creator's Magic

Top Story - August 2025
Photo by K.B. Silver Glen Alpine Falls (I think, there are a number of falls in Tahoe)

Forced to swallow myself

Everything that makes

Me, me

I drank in the sorrow

Guzzled it like spring rain

Swallowed every bit of pride

Dignity maintained

Every memory and agony

Shoved down deep

Where no one could find or see

Deep into the soil comprising me

No one but the creator

Could possibly envision their power

These tiny green seeds

Germinating

Growing in my deepest recesses

My precious hidden garden

Planted inside my heart

So it couldn’t be stomped out

My flowers stolen

Nor my delicate berries

Plucked and devoured

A jungle, slowly ripening as I

Walked around neutral-faced

In defense of my soul

Harvest day, I ran away

Into the brightening light

Molting my protective coat

Letting my wild flora out

I saw the truth in the

Perfection of that green

I waited for the creative

Forces to strengthen and spring

From deep inside of me

There is a spark a cloud of magic that

We all reside within

I breathed deeply, sucked it in

Simply recycled it

Tapped into its intrinsic fertility

The freedom of growing

Deep roots and a tall canopy

Immeasurable

My single greatest accomplishment

Disappearing into the forest of eternity

This is a great take on disappearing. I like the nature element. The second picture looks so cool.

  • Geez, this was stunning, absolutely beautiful! As someone who lives in the wilds of nature both physically and internally I relate to this. Gorgeous. Congratulations on your Top Story!
