Deep Fortune
Abundance in peace, love, and purpose.

I want to be rich
not in the shimmer of coins
or the cold weight of gold in my hands,
but in the kind of wealth that fills a life,
spills over the edges,
and cannot be counted.
I want to be rich in peace,
a quiet so deep it settles in my bones,
a calm that carries me through storms,
a stillness that needs no escape.
I want to be rich in love,
not just in the arms of another,
but in the warmth of family,
the laughter of friends,
the gentle kindness of a stranger
who expects nothing in return.
I want to be rich in joy,
the kind that blooms from the smallest things
the first sip of tea in the morning,
the way the sunlight dances on my skin,
the wind carrying secrets through the trees.
I want to be rich in the beauty of the world,
in forests that whisper and rivers that sing,
in flowers growing wild with no need for permission,
in mountains standing tall with stories older than time.
I want to be rich in the beauty I create,
in the paintings left on my fingertips,
the melodies humming in my chest,
the words that shape my dreams
and let them run free.
I want to be rich in a simple life,
where time is not a thing to chase,
where health is a treasure I nurture,
where contentment is a garden I tend
with my own two hands.
I want to be rich in the wonders of nature,
to watch the sky stretch open in endless blue,
to stand before the ocean and know my place,
to feel my jaw drop in awe at the world
as if seeing it for the very first time.
I want to be rich in the land I call home,
where every inch is alive with growing things,
where chickens wander and trees bear fruit,
where I can plant a seed and trust the earth
to meet me halfway.
I want to be rich in the company of the wild,
to wake to the call of birds in the morning,
to see deer stepping soft through the trees,
to know that life, in all its forms,
sees me not as a stranger but as kin.
I want to be rich in spirit,
to feel the pulse of something greater,
to walk with awareness,
to listen, to learn, to give
not because I must,
but because I am full enough to share.
I want to be rich in all the ways that matter,
rich in everything that shapes me,
that lifts me,
that makes me whole.
I want to be rich
so rich
that nothing can ever take it away.

This is so beautiful, from the top down! I love it! I think your cover photo is captivating! And the sentiment is wise! I know many people who think life is all about fighting for material wealth and that their happiness will be measured by money. Constantly complaining that they do more than they should have to do. Your way of measuring wealth so much more meaningful. And imagery is awesome. I especially enjoyed spending some time in the company of the wild! This is stunning. I'm Bill (or Bolt). I subscribed to you. I enjoyed finding this poem tonight! ⚡💙⚡
