Decisions

A poem

By Maria A. PerezPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Barking sound

My daughter coughing

Wife rocks the child

***

Two sons cower in silence

I pace the room

Like a caged tiger

***

With each labored breath

Life slips away

To the tune of a lullaby

***

Rent is due

It's cold outside

A paltry salary decides

***

Who lives

And

Who dies

About the Creator
