There is something a little brighter about December nights.
Maybe it's the way the moon reflects of the sparkling blanket of snow?
Or maybe, just being among the dancing of holiday decorations and lights?
Something is different, even magical. That, I know.
The air feels a little lighter, like the world slowed just for these moments.
Unable to see into the lives surrounding, one could never truly know, but the feeling... it seems less heavy, yet more full.
It's as if the world and its occupants filled up with intangible fragments:
Fragments of hope, love, wonder, fun, and faith. Faith in something as simple as better days, or ourselves being capable.
A smell so familiar it warms your insides.. Mom's famous pie!
Oh, how it would be to share in our Christmas desserts and holiday games...
The sound of laughter in the distance tells the story better than could I.
The one time of year the whole family's smiles could hang in the same frame.
The holidays have this funny way of reminding us to embrace the chaos, share our love, and have a little fun, while highlighting how long its been.
Happy Holidays! I hope its spent with love in your heart, kindness in your soul, and most of all shared with others you may or may not know. Until next year when we see you again :)
