December 4th

A poetic tribute to Black Panther leader Fred Hampton

By Joe PattersonPublished about a year ago 1 min read

It was on this day in 1969, the fourth of December.

A day the revolution would always remember.

A rebellious Negro who left the federal government agitated.

This is the day that Fred Hampton was assassinated.

The chairman Fred Hampton proposed a solution.

Fight a corrupt institution with the power of unity and revolution.

This is the key to evolution. Unite all colors and make em’ brothers.

Chairman Fred Hampton was on a mission.

He brought every race together. A rainbow of coalition.

He fought self degradation and oppression.

The evil empowered assassinated him to teach us a lesson.

December 4th he was murdered in the heat of the night.

But to this day we still continue his fight.

Though the world is still corrupt and scary.

The chairman’s legacy lives because you can’t kill a revolutionary.

Chairman Fred Hampton

~~Dedicated to the memory of the chairman Fred Hampton.
