Death

An ode to you

Oh Death, an ode to you.

So feared, I love you so.

I wait for you, in time I’ll go.

We will meet, I’m sure, in an abundance of love.

I see you twinkle in the stars above.

Oh Death, an ode to you.

Will you greet those few I love and adore.

Will you walk them to the abysmal shore.

Will I cry out to you and plea.

Will I be calm, like a placid sea.

Oh Life, an ode to you

Birthed from an ending.

Growing and bending.

I see suffering and pain abound.

I hear silence and a beautiful sound.

Oh Life, an ode to you.

You escape me, as death lingers

I grasp, watching you pull through my fingers.

Still, are you not the same?

Are you but death, with another name?
