A Poem

Developing technology to chronicle our destruction

We’ve been here so long

Yet, we know so little

The more we learn

The more disappears

We watch as our tears flood our lives

Straining against our greed to live

To give

To care about the things around us

A future flooding toward us

The tools of a thousand scholars in our hands

Recording

Recording every dull moment

Every wild thing no one has ever seen

Because if there’s no proof

What is to be believed

In a post-truth society

When we are forced to believe

That we have to agree on everything
