Death comes like a thief in the night

Stealing away the ones we hold tight

Leaving behind a heart full of pain

Reminding us love is not always gain

But in the darkness, there is a light

A glimmer of hope that shines so bright

For though death may take our loved ones away

Their memories will forever stay

In every laugh, in every smile

They live on, in us, all the while

Their spirit never truly dies

As long as we keep it alive

So let us cherish the time we have

For one day, death may come to call

But until then, let love be our guide

For it is the one thing that will never fall.
