Death And I Are Holding Hands

~ a poem ~

By Anji KaizenPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
"Forest's Embrace" - photo by Ryan Harville, Anji Kaizen as muse and model.

Death and I are holding hands,

When

She tells me she is afraid.

Her boundless appetite

That takes and takes,

But cannot give away...

Afraid that soon, she’ll swallow life

Himself

And be left alone.

That golden boy, she follows ‘round

Just beyond the reach of her cloak.

A light so pure,

Her darkness yearns

To quench that brilliant glow.

To bring him rest,

To give him peace,

“I’ll kill my darling,

I love him so”.
