Death And Grief.

When Death Leaves, Grief Moves In.

By April Kirby.Published 8 months ago 1 min read
"Growing With Grief."

Death sits with grief for a little while. He knows he has a hard job but the job that grief has is one not even he could ever endure.

While death takes without looking back, grief is a constant. She gets no time off. She crawls into their chest and makes a home out of their love tearing it apart in the process of settling down.

She scatters pieces of their love all over the place and they are left cleaning it up the best way they can.

Death may steal but grief makes a home out of everyone she meets and destroys them from the inside out.

So death puts his hand on griefs shoulder and says, "Maybe it won't be so hard this time", but grief just shakes her head and says, "It's always hard. I don't want this job anymore."

Death has a job and can't quit.

Grief is hidden deep in love from day one, and she knows she'll have to come out one day, but nothing could ever prepare her for the damage that she will do.

The two sit in silence for a little while longer trying to prepare themselves but they both know as long as this world spins, this would be their job and there was nothing either of them could ever do about it.

This is some deep stuff. It really makes you think about how different death and grief are. I like how it shows grief as this constant presence that tears people up. It makes me wonder if there's any way to truly prepare for grief. Have you ever experienced something that made you really understand how powerful grief can be?
