Dear, Time

Where Do You Go?

Dear Time,

I notice you wait for no one

You slip away and ruin the fun

Once you’re gone, there’s no getting you back

Where do you go? You have a knack

You're elusive, manipulative, and sly

You slip through our fingers as days go by

We feel your presence, but can't see your face

You're an enigma, a mystery, a puzzle to embrace

Sometimes you're on our side, other times you're not

Why are you like this? Stressing us a lot

Time is precious, that much is clear

A moment here, a moment there, always near

You're there in the beginning and the end

A loyal companion, a constant friend

You're a part of our lives, a moment in between,

A reminder that life is fleeting, and never to be seen

In your own way, you have a style,

That no one can match, not even a mile

We're grateful for your fairness, your steady pace

For reminding us to live, to love, and to embrace

Our clocks are ticking, and you're to blame

But living forever would be insane

So in this moment, we choose to be present

To live, to laugh, to love, and to be pleasant

For we know that life is uncertain and brief

But in moments of joy, we find relief

So let's cherish the moments we have with you

Until our clock stops, and our time is due
