Dear Memory, …

With love, Mona Yonus

How our cold air

Pushes the past down

On every taken step

-

I wait in grief

For the memories

To seep beneath

The roots of an

Ever-present birch tree

-

Yet with the cracks of Earth

The indivisible form of memory

Sings a pressuring silence

Of treasures deprived of keys

love poems
