Dear future me

It's a poem I guess

By Some GuyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Dear future me if you would ever read

Have you discovered the verb to succeed

Have you fallen into a life of greed?

Are there addictions you forever need?

*

The repetitive days of tomorrow

Did you forget to take your one life slow?

Did you forget to just go with the flow?

Have you been forgetting how you could glow?

*

Did you climb any mountains like you said?

Is there a routine for going to bed?

Are you and that girl already now wed?

Is there still hair left atop your round head?

*

Are you still writing poems and stories?

Are you exploring new territories?

Or are you browsing the categories?

Content more with your own inventories

*

Inspiration for another crossroad?

Finding more advice that you can download?

Feeling as if there's something that's still owed?

The pieces of life together you sowed

*

So from me to I whenever - my stance

I cannot know of the next circumstance

And some things are forever up to chance

But when music hits remember to dance

*

For time is the inevitable flood

As the dirt transforms into endless mud

At times things will hit you with a big thud

And there will almost certainly be blood

*

You may think I was happier today

In many ways this time I want to stay

The flow I must follow along the way

Knowing that even today I was grey

*

Living like this meaningless mess of words

The chick who never joined the flock of birds

My writing time once again running loose

Or perhaps once more, another excuse

*

Sincerely, nearly clearly written

or perhaps merely tongue bitten

The worst poet you've ever read

Writing trash in his bed

About the Creator

Some Guy

I kinda suck at writing but I enjoy it

Anyway, here's a dumb little haiku:

The gunslinger draws

His opponent does the same

oh dear, they both died
