Dear Brother

5/29/22

By Olivia DodgePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I hope the past year has treated you well

And your eyes do not deceive you as flowers blossom and swell

With colors you have not yet given name

I hope the past year has made your anger tame

I hope the past month has shown you hope

And the walls do not scream as you try to cope

With the bubbling inside your ribcage you know too well

I hope the past month has not been hell

I hope this weekend is bright and sunny

And the flowers you see now will harvest honey

With bees carrying pollen across the land

I hope this weekend you do not feel damned

I hope this next year will bring you clarity

And your dreams of riches do not amplify solidarity

With internal bubbling and walls now silent too

I hope this next year your anger will not become you
